On the road to Portage Glacier,
there's a turnout where you can get a
great view of this glacier, name
unknown.
At the Portage Glacier visitor's center,
there's a number of statues featuring
Alaska's wildlife.
This statue is in downtown
Anchorage.
and one more.
Here's another one ...
Okay, this is a point along the road from Anchorage
to Seward, with a great view of the mountains and
river. Now, this was June, so it shouldn't have been
cold, right?
WRONG! I was the only dit-dotter not
bundled up. What a moron!
Now, having grown up on the coast of North
Carolina, snow covered mountains beside a
marina in June were a strange site indeed. It was
the strangest until ...
... we came across a roadside park
featuring GIANT animals. I struggled
with this one for HOURS. Okay, not
really, but it is really carved by
chainsaw.
So, my Alaska adventure seems to be coming to an
end. It was a great trip!
